Minister Mona Keijzer wants to curb the leasing (sale) of rental properties and is making proposals to make renting more attractive again for private landlords.
📌 What's in store?
- The WOZ value will soon count more heavily in the housing valuation system for new rental contracts.
- Small monuments will be allowed to charge a higher rent in new contracts.
- No more demerits for lack of outdoor space.
- Students will have more access to temporary rental contracts.
➡️ Goal: strengthen the middle rental segment and make rental more attractive, without losing rent protection.
Still, interest group Vastgoed Belang finds these measures insufficient. They argue for even more space and clarity, so that rentals remain profitable in the long term. Many investors are still waiting for real structural measures for stability in the rental market.
